Japan is in our Hearts, GV Vancouver
GV Vancouver lends support to earthquake victims in JapanGV Vancouver has raised over $2500 to lend its support to the relief efforts in Japan. A colourful and thrilling fund-raising show was held at Global Village Vancouver last Friday afternoon. The eventful play, "Murder at the Cottonmouth Club" was spearheaded by Mike Cavers, Creative Director of Actors Unlimited Entertainment, who is also a veteran teacher at Global Village. The smoky and swanky cast lead by Mike Cavers and several GV teacher-characters delivered a fun-filled interactive comedy to an audience of 50 students. The $10 tickets included an evening of fine-dining. See video below. Over $600 was raised from ticket sales. Another $150 was raised in a photo contest led by teacher and master photographer, David Sanders. $400 was collected in the donation box. And Global Village Vancouver contributed $1500 to the cause which made for a grand total of $2600 raised over the past few weeks. The proceeds will go to the Japanese Red Cross. Many thanks are extended to the generous and caring students and staff for helping the victims in Japan in need of care and support! Murder at the Cottonmouth Club. |
