IELTS Preparation Course in Toronto

Three possibilities

GV Toronto offers 3 possibilities for IELTS Preparation. We offer a full-time course offered daily Monday-Friday, a part-time course on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:30 and a part-time course on Monday and Wednesday evenings. It is also possible to combine the two evening programs for an intensive preparation in a short period of time. Full-time IELTS Preparation Course for 2012

Start dates: Jan 16, Feb 13, Mar 12, Apr 10, May 07, Jun 04, Jul 03, Jul 30, Aug 27, Sep 24, Oct 22, Nov 19, Dec 17

Schedule: Classes run from 8:45-2:10 Monday-Thursday and 8:45-12:20 on Fridays.

Fees:

4 weeks = $1,345 (including $125 registration fee and $40 material fee)
8 weeks = $2,565 (including $125 registration fee and $80 material fee)
12 weeks = $3,485 (including $125 registration fee and $120 material fee)

The Global Village IELTS Preparation Course is a 4-12 week course aimed at preparing students who wish to take either the Academic or General Training IELTS exam. The course will help prepare students by teaching English language skills and strategies necessary for the exam as well as familiarizing students with the format and structure of the exam. Following the course, students should be able to complete the following tasks:

  • Listening - Extract relevant information from four audio passages and answer 40 questions in 30 minutes. The questions types can include multiple choice, short answer, sentence completion or chart completion.
  • Reading - Extract relevant information from three reading passages and answer 40 questions in 60 minutes. The question types can include multiple choice, short answer, sentence completion, chart completion, identification of information or writer's opinion, and matching lists or phrases.
  • Writing - Interpret and describe graphical information using approximately 150 words in 20 minutes; OR write a letter responding to a given situation using approximately 150 in 20 minutes; AND write a discursive or argumentative essay using approximately 250 words in 40 minutes.
  • Speaking - Participate in a speaking test consisting of three sections: i) an interview (4-5 minutes), ii) a long turn/a description (3-4 minutes), and iii) a two-way conversation.

Part-time Evening IELTS Preparation Courses (Option#1 or #2) for 2012

Schedule: Classes run from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays OR Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Duration: 4 weeks to 16 weeks

Fees: $330 for 4 weeks (including $25 registration fee*)

* Registration fee waived for continuing GV students
Program Information

The part-time course prepares students for either the academic or general training IELTS test. The course will focus on the structure of the test, key strategies and tips required for success and the outcomes as detailed in the full-time course description.

*Courses start every 4 weeks on the same dates as the full-time course, however, in most cases it is possible to start at the beginning of any week. Contact the school for availability.

Part-time Evening Intensive IELTS Preparation Course (Option#3) for 2012

Schedule: Classes run from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm from Monday to Thursday.

Duration: 2 weeks

Fees: $330 for 2 weeks (including $25 registration fee*)

* Registration fee waived for continuing GV students

This course is designed for students who need to gain knowledge and strategies for the exam in a short amount of time. It combines both evening programs of study for an intensive exam preparation.
